911 Communications Dispatcher
Scotts Bluff County 911 Communications Center is accepting applications for two full?time dispatchers.
Candidate testing will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, to establish an eligibility list for the anticipated August hiring period.
Dispatchers are responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non?emergency calls for police, sheriff, fire, EMS, and rescue units. The role involves operating 911 consoles and related communication equipment and documenting all calls.
Preferred skills and requirements: Must be able to work through stressful situations, be able to multitask and remain organized. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; provide excellent customer service. Have the ability to stay calm under pressure; strong critical thinking skills; ability to work shift work including evenings, weekends and holidays with occasional overtime; respond to all incoming calls positively and effectively per established protocols.
Requirements: 19 years or older, High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass criminal background check, written test, interview and drug test.
Requirements: Graduation from senior high school or equivalent.
